Best Vacuum For Your Airbnb

JG - September 20, 2021

Are you looking to be more efficient in cleaning your Airbnb’s floors? Is your old vacuum not cutting it? This article will detail some of the characteristics that make a good Airbnb vacuum and suggest a vacuum that will get the job done and get it done right!

What Makes a Vacuum Good for Airbnb?

Here are some things to keep in mind when purchasing a vacuum for your Airbnb.

  • Bagless or bags? Vacuums that have canisters do have to be emptied and cleaned periodically as opposed to vacuums that use bags to store the dust and material. Bagged vacuums obviously have an extra cost to you since you have to continuously replace bags. To keep costs down, I would recommend a vacuum with a built-in canister.
  • Weight. Time is of the essence when cleaning an Airbnb. A light weight vacuum is better than a heavy vacuum with all else things considered.
  • Air sealed? In a post pandemic world, you don’t want your vacuum to spit air out in places or have leaks when it is picking stuff up off the floor. This can worsen the spread of germs and/or things have germs from the floor. Having an air tight and sealed vacuum is best.
  • Ease of use. You want to have an easy time emptying the contents of the canister and when time comes an easy time cleaning the vacuum. You’re also going to be using this vacuum quite a bit so having one that is a joy to use, makes all the difference.
  • Durability and reliability. You’re going to vacuum each time a guest checks out so you need it to work for many cycles more than normal house cleaning usage.

What Vacuum to Choose For Your Airbnb?

The obvious choice here is the Dyson Ball Vacuum. It meets all of the mentioned requirements being bagless, lightweight, absolutely airtight, easy to use and maintain, and durable as heck. It has been recommended by professional housing clean services.

This vacuum has two HEPA filters that are washable. Being washable prolongs the life of them and you don’t have to replace them that often (on the order of years).

This vacuum weighs 17 pounds so the strain on your shoulder when vacuuming as well as any difficulties transporting it up and down stairs is minimized.

Everything snaps back together and you know that it’s airtight and sealed when things are snapped into place. This vacuum is also good for hardwood floors or carpet.

The warranty is 5 years from the manufacturer but it’s likely that you will not need it because these vacuums are built rugged and tough.

The only downside is that it is on the expensive side but, you get what you pay for and as an investment for your Airbnb, I think it’s worth it.
